Instructors wishing to customize can change the length, the chord types to be included, and whether the student must identify the inversion as well as the root. Examples by default are 2 measures of 4 chords each. ![]() The student labels each harmony by choosing from a palette of Roman numerals with inversion figures specified. With four levels of difficulty plus a practice level, Roman Numeral Analysis provides an essentially endless number of randomly generated but credible 4-part examples. New March 2022: Practica Musica now includes a new activity, Roman Numeral Analysis, found in the Chord Progression section of the Theory column. If you are an instructor and do not see the instructor option "Upload to Webstudents" in each activity information window just email with your webstudents account name and the serial number that appears under the program name on your start screen, and we'll enable those options for your copy of the program. The current list of exams includes Interval Playing, Interval Spelling, Chord Playing, Chord Spelling, Scales, Degrees, and Roman Numeral Analysis. When the instructor has seen the scores for every student the exam can be removed from webstudents, and only then are students free to delete their scores for the exam. The exam will then appear in the "From Instructor" column for every student logged into that account, and it will behave a little differently: an exam from the instructor will present the same list of questions or examples to every student, and it can be taken just once. Instructors can upload any practice exam to their class "webstudents" account, which is free upon request. You are expected to do an exam in one sitting, or at least without switching to another activity or quitting - each time you launch a practice exam it starts at the beginning again but with a new series of examples drawn from the materials specified. You are then assigned a percent score, and if the percent is anything over 90% a gold star is attached to the score entry in your progress report, just for fun. These typically consist of 30 examples, and instead of the score mounting endlessly as in other activities, these stop when you reach the last question. When launched from the Practice Exam section, each one presents a new random series of questions or examples each time it is launched. These are found in a new section labeled "Practice Exams" in the Theory column. ![]() ![]() New August 22, 2022: Practica Musica Exams are now available in version 7.060, a free update for all users.
